A Weekend Detail Worth Sharing

By and large, we had a quiet weekend.
It was cold. It was rainy.
We didn't get to play outside nearly as much
as we would have liked.
Instead, Tristan and I busied ourselves
in the kitchen and whipped up a batch
of heavenly brownies.

I think you'd agree that with these in the house,

the rain and cold didn't seem all so bad. ☺

Here's the recipe:
2 cups sugar
1 cup veg oil
4 eggs
6 tablespoons cocoa (unsweetened)
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
(if you're like me and seldom have SR flour on hand,
simply use all-purpose and add 1/2 tsp of both salt and baking powder)
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Blend together sugar, oil, eggs,
cocoa, and vanilla. Add flour; mix. Add nuts.
Spread into greased 9 x 13 pan and bake
in preheated 325 oven for 25 -30 min.
