The Tale of a Father's Day Adventure

An adventure it was! This year, for Father's Day, most of my entire family headed to Ft. White, FL (about an hour outside Gainesville) to spend the day together tubing down the
Ichetucknee River.
(If you are interested and have a minute -there is lots of interesting information about the springs and river at this website:
The best way to describe it is absolutely beautiful.
Hopefully, you'll get a glimpse of that as you look at the shots below.
My Dad floating along:

Aynsley, Andee and Molly standing in front of the spring :

Here's Daddy Rod -

Perhaps he has that look on his face because he is floating in water that was about 72 degrees! We left our hotels about 6:45 ish a.m. and by the time we all were in the water, it was still only about 9: 15 a.m. - overcast skies with an 80% chance of rain - I think the outside thermometer read only 71 - it could've been a bit warmer but that was part of the adventure.

Amazing Cypress:

Little Man Tristan in his own mini-boat (that's AJ in the background) :

The sights are just awesome as you float down the river. Of course the spring water is crystal clear -you see all kinds of big birds, fish and if you're still enough, maybe even a doe. Here Rod is pointing to cavernous-like rocks -some of them were so steep you could glide under them.

A sunning turtle:

Me and my girl:

Aynsley and Tristan tube-hopped. They spent time on their big island tube, the little mini-boat and at one point got in with Gran and Caity in their boat....

Ayns and Uncle Matt:

AJ & Sarah:

This is my favorite pic -

That looks like soooo much fun. I've heard of other people doing that and I've always wanted to try it. Definitely going on the To Do List.

Was there aligators...or no because it is so cold??? Seriously...

I know when we would go to the springs as a girl we would see manatees...but it was gator free...which meant it was for me!
