A few weeks ago, Aynsley came home from school with a cup of sunflower seeds growing. The kids studied sunflowers in April and had a classroom planting project -once their plants grew a bit, they could bring them home. We've been diligently taking care of these little guys and it came time to transfer them to bigger homes. So out to the greenhouse we went- Me, Aynsley and Tristan. Meanwhile, my dad (aka Pop) gave Aynsley a few miniuature sunflower plants to grow too. So, we've been in the sunflower business around my house. As it would go around here, a rabbit has been stalking the tender shoots of the original plants and this morning we watched him gnaw off the tip of one. (I'll spare you the many stories of squirrel and rabbit problems around here right now...I endured WAY too much fun-poking with my cardinal story) Don't despair...the mini's are still thriving and we're starting to see buds. Aynsley is doing a great job of checking on them and especially likes to water them, as you can see below.
