And.... She's Off!

I know all parents are proud of their kids' abilities. It starts when they are babies and you hear us say things like "They are just so smart". Our parents hear us out, assure us that we are right.....yes, little Johnny is in fact, the smartest baby out there! Then that sly smile comes across their face because they know how this goes....every parent is like this. We say we won't be, but we are. We're proud! We get so excited when our kid scores, gets an "A", tells a joke, paints Picasso quality portraits, etc. etc. We know their potential! For goodness sakes, surely they're destined to be the next Tim Tebow or Bill Gates!
Now I'm really not the braggin' kind. But my Aynsley.....she is no lightweight. She will be a force to be reckoned with.

Seriously.

I know, I know....all parents think this. But my kid...she actually is destined for greatness.

Ok, all jokes aside, she impressed me today at her very first Field Day at school. If there was an Olympic category for bean bag tossing, she would be a very serious contender.
Ya'll aren't gonna believe me now after my earlier comments, but she seems to be a natural - athletically inclined. Really.
What a great day - it brought back lots of memories of competitive field days from my youth. Here are some shots of our fun today:
Getting ready for that super softball throw...

She ran the dash so fast that she had to have a run-off with the top boy runners. See, I told you all that she was a natural. :-) This shot is of the run-off.
She was tickled with her ribbons....first place in the broad jump and bag toss. Whoa!
Now, if we could just work on teaching her that it is not good sportsmanship to burst into tears when her classmates beat her across the finish line, we'll be doin' something. :-)
