Aynsley and Rod were enjoying the rainy afternoon on the deck and they kept hearing what sounded like baby birds chirping. They investigated and found that the big ficus tree shading our deck was home to a nest of baby black birds. Of course, they were tipped off by the hovering of Momma and Daddy Black Bird who were about to have a heart attack as my two monkeys climbed the tree to get a closer glance. Ya'll know how tall Rod is and he was standing on the railing of the deck with most of his body in the tree. He captured this shot by holding the camera above his head to try to photograph the birds inside the nest. When he held Aynsley up high to see - quite a feat! -- she commented that they were sleeping! Tristan had a turn too but we did not disturb them other than flash photography. What a neat experience. Hopefully, we'll get to witness their nest departure.
