This summer my group of girlfriends, now actually referred to as the Noggs (No Other God Girls), is doing this Bible study by Kelly Minter-"No Other Gods". I have been reading the actual book for a few weeks and WOW, it is good stuff! This author is great --she speaks to you in straight talk about what things are getting in the way of God in your daily life: other "gods". She calls these things "functional gods" as opposed to your professed God, Jesus Christ.
The book gets high marks from me.
Anyway, the Noggs are doing this study --called a Living Room Series-- over the summer and we have been excitedly awaiting the start this week. A neat thing is that Beth Moore is facilitating it with all of us doing the summer study through her blog site. So each week's discussion questions are from Beth! Neat, huh!
We had such a good time diving in to God's word together and sharing what our functional gods are...boy, is it enlightening and convicting all at the same time. I'll keep you readers up to date on our study.
