Once Upon A Time....

....there lived two young girls, Heidi and Heidi, who someday hoped to achieve their dreams and become true princesses, crossing the finish line while being greeted by their Prince Charmings. On white horses. The tiara of their dreams? One fit for a princess, studded with bling and bearing the words 1/2 Marathon Finisher. This is how the story goes.

Despite poisonous apples (the flu, colds, and sinus infections) and pointy spindles aglow (dropping the computer on my big toe), the young girls anxiously trained as they were able and finally made it to the day of the ball.

Here is the Pre Race Expo where the princesses-in-training geared up with everything one might need for their special ball....glitter, pink running shoes, and chocolate granola bars.
You can see the maid servants at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique were ready and waiting to magically transform the girls into princesses with a wave of their magic wand! But that would not do for these princesses wanted to earn their title. No magic glitter for them.
The girls tried hard to fit into this glass slipper but alas, it would not fit. They would have to stick to their Nike's.

The eve of the ball and entertainment was in order.
A feast for the eyes!

The ball arrives.

This is about .1 mile from the finish line so hence, the great big smile on this almost princess' face. She can see her Prince waiting with a camera! Oh the excitement of it all!

After 13.1 miles, 3 hours 2 minutes and 18 seconds, and a lot of Bio-Freeze, the two young Heidi's crossed the finish line, high-fiving with Mickey and Minnie, and placing somewhere in the 4000's with 8000 other almost princesses.

They made it! It's official - they are indeed princesses with the tiara to prove it.

And Charming? Here he is, along with little princess Aynsley who thought the tiara was actually going to a real crown for Mommy's head, after all.....what good is that hunk of gold around your neck when you could actually have a crown!
No white steed to be found. Apparently, Jack was left at home.
And the Heidi Princesses lived happily ever after.

Well, after icing down their feet and knees.

The End.

I LOVE the storybook format of this post! I love it even more that I was a lead character!

Congratulations again, Princess Heidi!
